FAME

I arrived at FAME Hospital and Clinics ( fameafrica.org ) today at noon.

Saidi, the volunteer coordinator, met me and gave me a tour of the hospital, clinics and grounds and got me settled and supplied at my house.

My volunteer house is lovely and very comfortable( except the power went out late afternoon,,, maybe the toaster I plugged in ??- restored later that evening by the electrician switching the breaker) . For this week it is only me in the small 3 bedroom house. Next week another female will likely join me.

I have less than a block walk to the main hospital and it overlooks the hillside going up. Today I just unpacked, worked on this travelogue and rested up for a busy week ahead

I ate dinner at a lovely little place called Lilac right across from the hospital on campus. Early to bed to get ready for 8 am team meeting at the hospital.
