Kilimanjaro To Karatu

After 18 hours of travel, I arrived at Kilimanjaro Airport at 7:45 pm. I passed through immigration and customs without a hitch. The people at the airport were so friendly, welcoming and helpful.

I took a bumpy jeep ride to my sweet little Lodge for the night, Kia Lodge.

Early this morning my intrepid driver, Hassan, picked me up for the 4 hour drive to Karatu. Some of the roads were very bumpy, some nice and smooth. Crazy drivers! The sights along the way included lots of scenery, Maasai people and their villages, a few baboons and lots of local business.
